We are seeking a talented and results-driven Metallurgist to join our processing team in Ontario.In this critical role, you will be responsible for optimizing our mineral processing operations, from the mill through to concentrate production. You will use your expertise to improve recovery rates, product quality, and process efficiency while ensuring the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance. Your work will be key to maintaining our competitive edge and achieving our production targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize plant performance, focusing on grinding, flotation, thickening, and filtration circuits.
  • Conduct metallurgical testing, including sampling, chemical assays, and mineralogy studies, to identify process improvements.
  • Investigate process upsets and operational variances, implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime and production losses.
  • Lead and support projects aimed at improving recovery, throughput, cost efficiency, and product quality.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to operations personnel on shift.
  • Ensure all metallurgical activities adhere to strict health, safety, and environmental protocols.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly metallurgical performance reports for management.
  • Collaborate with mine and maintenance teams to ensure a cohesive approach to production goals.

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a mineral processing plant environment, preferably with base metals (Nickel, Copper).
  • Strong knowledge of comminution (crushing/grinding) and concentration (flotation) processes.
  • Experience with metallurgical accounting, mass balancing, and data analysis software.
  • Proficiency in using process simulation tools is an asset.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with operations and management teams.
